Summer YogaSummer is approaching quickly and there seems to be a natural decline in participation in formal yoga classes as the weather improves. Our time is spent on activities that are denied us during the long winter months. Gardening, lawn and yard care, traveling and other outdoor recreation are great ways to get exercise and are very exciting pastimes. And it is easy to skip your class in favour of these other pursuits. But, these activities also put extra stress on our bodies and extra concerns in our psyches and over time you notice that something is missing.
It's the breath, the mindfulness and the peace of mind that comes with the shared practice. When you stop, you notice the absence. You know yoga is much more than an exercise class. And, you know you need that peaceful easy feeling in summer too! Stay safe out there! |
