16/4/2018 0 Comments Chair YogaChair Yoga anyone?! I have just spent an entire weekend with a group of yoga, fitness and allied health professionals (phyiso, OT, massage therapists) exploring the delights, discussing applications (and contraindications) and erasing the stigma of chair yoga. Interestingly, many of the 'mat' yoginis commented that they might switch some of their personal practice to the chair!! Thank you Julie Palmer, at Yoga 4 All, for the wonderful intensive weekend.
Chair yoga was originally developed to aid those yogis and yoginis who didn't have the flexibility (or confidence) for the traditional yoga forms. It has evolved and continues to evolve to include practitioners in the corporate world--office yoga, in the classroom, as well as ongoing therapy for those challenged with chronic conditions (young or elderly) and to introduce seniors to the joys of yoga in a safe, supportive environment. I find chair yoga to be an exciting opportunity to explore; both personally and professionally. It draws on my background in long-term care, my work in modern educational facilities and my passion for divine discovery. I am happy to share. Want to know more about chair yoga and its possibilities for you? Get in touch through the website. ktparsons.com, through facebook @ktparsonsquietwellyoga or email me [email protected]. I look forward to seeing you--I literally have a seat waiting just for you.
