2013 World Day of Prayer

I had opportunity to attend the World Day of Prayer service at a local church last evening.  The service was written and prepared by the women of France this year.  It was a lovely service complete with guest speaker who lived in France for 21 years.

The speaker's message was to embrace the culture and and traditions of the country in which you are living.  To get to know the real people of the country.  'Too often,' she said, 'we don't feel comfortable stepping away from our own traditions. But what an enriching experience when we do.'

I believe the same is true when we explore our spirituality.  If you only stick within the confines of what you have always done, never exploring the vast array of spiritual experience, how do we learn, grow and enrich our knowledge of the divine?
